Durante la campagna elettorale aveva detto che la situazione della liberta'di stampa in Italia avrebbe potuto richiedere l'apertura di una procedura d'urgenza contro il nostro paese. Cosi' le ho lasciato la mia e-mail e questo messaggio:
I’m an Italian citizen who lives in the Netherlands since a few years, now.
For the last European elections I decided to vote for a Dutch candidate, rather than wasting my ballot for a candidate of the Italian “left coalition” that looked hopeless to me. I voted for you not only because I share Groen Links views on most issues. I was quite pleased to hear that you would support a procedure against Italy due to the pitiful condition of the freedom of the press in my country.
As you certainly know, the situation in Italy has become even worse in the last few months. Some journalists have lost their job, or will have to face a court case because their newspapers or networks dared to stick to their duties: to describe facts, and to face reality.
I wonder how long Europe will wait before considering taking action against Italy and namely Mr. Berlusconi government.
Siamo ancora in Europa, per fortuna.
